Purdie News

Out with the old and in with the new!

It's here, the all new Purdie website designed specifically with you in mind. Purdie Sales Manager John Gaze is delighted with the newly designed site, 'We took the decision to completely redesign the site from scratch' he said. 'Many of our clients are not aware of the wide range of products and services we are able to offer or what goes into making their own dished ends. Regular news updates will also keep our clients informed of our latest developments'

They are still dished ends, just REALLY REALLY big ones!

At 4.7 m in diameter there is no wonder Purdie Works Manager Andy Baird was pleased to see the final five heads shipped. 'Our client ordered 8 No 4.7m diameter heads, 4 in 5mm and 4 in 10mm thick 316 stainless steel. We had to weld two plates together to make the massive 5.2m starting blanks needed to form the ends.
Once formed we then polished the internal surfaces using our semi-automatic polishing equipment'. When transformed into the finished vessels they will be used in the food processing industry.
